Location
The remaining archaeological site Pucapucara is located at the top of the road to Pisac, about 7 km from Cusco city, its altitude is 3.580 meters over sea level.

Meaning of the name
Pucapucara means red fortress, called like that because the location of the group and the existence of some semi-circular environment, the red color because of the earth. This name was used in this century.
Pucapucara counts with: interior places, baths, aqueducts and an old road.
